David F. J. CampbellDavid F. J. Campbell is a Research Fellow at the Institute of Science Communication and Higher Education Research (WIHO), Faculty for Interdisciplinary Studies (IFF), University of Klagenfurt; Lecturer in Political Science at the University of Vienna; and Quality Manager at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna. Campbell co-edited “Demokratiequalität in Österreich: Zustand und Entwicklungsperspektiven” (Leske + Budrich, 2002) (“Democracy Quality in Austria”) and “Knowledge Creation, Diffusion, and Use in Innovation Networks and Knowledge Clusters” (Praeger, 2006), and his articles on innovation, politics and society have been published in several international journals. Campbell teaches at the University of Klagenfurt and the University of

Georg Pölzlbauer is currently employed at a consultancy in Switzerland. He
has studied computer sciences at the Vienna University of Technology, where
he also spent three years as a researcher during his PhD studies. Further,
he has worked at the statistics department of the central bank of the

As an academic entrepreneur he advises in civic education, develops new strategies for public relations and creates new ideas for quality improvements and innovation. His last publication was “The Idea of a Green New Deal in a Quintuple Helix Model of Knowledge, Know-how and Innovation” in the International Journal of Social Ecology and Sustainable Development (January-March 2011, Vol. 2, No. 1, pp. 1-14).

Patrick ScherhauferPatrick Scherhaufer is project researcher and lecturer at the Institute of Forest, Environmental, and Natural Resource Policy at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences Vienna (BOKU). From 2006-2012 he was secretary general of the Austrian Political Science Association (AuPSA). From 2004-2010 he worked as a managing editor for the Living Reviews in European Governance (LREG) and the European Integration online Papers (EIoP). He is Director of Research, Science, Technology, Innovation and Entrepreneurship, European Union Research Center (EURC) (also George Washington University), and Co-founder and Co-Director of the Global and Entrepreneurial Finance Research Institute (GEFRI). His teaching and research activities focus on the areas of strategic Government-University-Industry R&D partnerships, technology road-mapping, technology transfer and commercialization, international science and technology policy, technological entrepreneurship, and regional economic development. Otmar HöllOtmar Höll is Director of the Austrian Institute of International Affairs (oiip), guest-professor and lecturer at Universities in Austria (esp. University of Vienna, Visiting Professor at the Danube University Krems / DUK) and abroad, trainer in political education. He also took a degree in psycho-therapy and group-dynamics. He has widely published books and articles, esp. in the field of national and international foreign and security, development and environment policy, and globalization. He has been in the editorial and advisory boards of national and international scientific journals and is still an activist in developmental NGOs. His main research areas are: Austrian foreign and security policy, European Integration, Globalization and international system dynamics, policies regarding development and environment (sustainability), comprehensive security, crisis and conflict research, political psychology.
